BUY SUSTAINABLE

Consumable or Reusable?
Often the products we purchase are chosen for convenience
or for purchase price. If we consider the final cost of buying cheap
products that break easily or become obsolete they are often not
even less expensive. A product that can be reused is often a better
value.

STICK TO THE BASICS
Don't buy it! Do you need it? It is often hard to tell the difference
between something we need and something that is a luxury.
One can justify anything to be a neccessity.

Here is a Guideline:

#1 -FOOD
Is it basic food?

BASIC FOOD: Food that you grow yourself.
Bulk foods purchased at a market that do not have
packaging and have not been cooked.

#2 -SHELTER
Is it basic housing?

BASIC SHELTER: How much room do you NEED? The basic cave size
needed per person is less than 100sf. This is enough space for
a bed, toilet, shower, kitchenette, desk & heating stove.

#3 -CLOTHING
Is it basic clothing?

BASIC CLOTHING: Natural fiber cloth sewn well enough together to
stay around the body keeping you warm.

#4 -A FEW BASICS
Will it help keep you alive?!

A FEW BASICS: Some of these items may be justified-
a water jug, rain water barrel, bicycle, wheel barrow, garden tools,
a cooking pot, vitamins, eyeglasses, medical help

The rest is a luxury- save your money and help the poor!
Own less, work less and enjoy life more!
